A LAP-BAND® removal is a minimally invasive procedure where we laparoscopically remove the LAP-BAND® so the stomach returns to its normal pre-operative state. You may choose to remove a LAP-BAND® if you are no longer maintaining your weight loss or if you are experiencing any complications such as band erosion, band slippage, band infection, difficulty swallowing or other gastrointestinal issues.
A LAP-BAND® removal plus a revision is a minimally invasive procedure where we laparoscopically remove the LAP-BAND® so the stomach returns to its normal pre-operative state, then add on another weight loss procedure that is more effective and long-lasting. A removal plus a revision could eliminate complications and help you maintain lasting weight loss. You can have your LAP-BAND® removed and revised to:
1. Gastric Sleeve
2. Gastric Bypass
3. SADI-S Duodenal Switch
If Gastric Sleeve has failed to achieve lasting or desired weight loss, or you are experiencing complications such as severe acid reflux, you may elect to have a Gastric Sleeve revision. You can have your existing Gastric Sleeve revised to:
1. Gastric Sleeve (the surgeon re-tightens or resizes the sleeve to reduce the size of the stomach again to restore its restrictive capacity)
2. Gastric Bypass
3. SADI Duodenal Switch

Dr. Long did his undergraduate studies at Duke University. He served as Chief of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery, as well as the assistant residency program director, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center from 2004-2006. From 2002-2004, he was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base where he practiced general surgery and led a Critical Care Air Transport Team on deployment in the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Long has also been voted as one of the best doctors in DFW by D Magazine multiple years in a row.

Dr. Roshek is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery. He is also an active member and contributor for the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He has served as faculty, teaching advanced laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures to attendees at national conferences. He has co-authored a book chapter on the management and repair of complex abdominal wall hernias and also several scholarly articles in medical journals. Most recently he published a review article on the surgical treatment of obesity in the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association. Dr. Roshek has been voted as one of the best doctors in the state of Texas and is a Texas Monthly Super Doctor.
